Project Description

The Auá Forest Project - Fazenda Santa Helena V aims to contribute to the increase in Brazilian rural properties compliant with the country's Forest Code. By leveraging the carbon market, the project provides better opportunities for small and medium landowners to achieve environmental compliance while promoting the expansion of native vegetation.

Stakeholders and local communities involved in the project

The main stakeholders are landowners, the internal team, and strategic partners. AUÁ Forest's strategies and activities aim to create value for all direct and indirect beneficiaries within its network of relationships. The relationships are built with landowners and the local community. The company believes in the potential to engage the community, which seeks forest restoration projects and incentives for socio-environmental development. The community is always well-informed and plays an essential role in shaping the project's scope.

Project Goals

The objective of the Auá Forest Project - Fazenda Santa Helena V is to carry out forest restoration planting in degraded areas where environmental regeneration is necessary. The project will restore areas that contribute to the increase and conservation of biodiversity in both fauna and flora, as well as soil and water conservation. Additionally, the project aims to contribute to climate change mitigation and to generate knowledge and income for surrounding communities by enabling the integration of socio-environmental projects.

Co-benefits

The AUÁ Forest Project restores degraded areas, enhancing biodiversity, ecosystem resilience, and water regulation. It reduces risks of floods and landslides, sequesters carbon, and supports local communities by generating jobs, promoting gender equity, and fostering environmental education. The project also strengthens land tenure security and preserves traditional forest knowledge.
