Project Description

After the visible successes of recent years, we, Magic to the World e.V. from Germany, continue our tree planting cooperation with ISCOT in the Madi Opei region in northern Uganda. More than 120,000 seedlings have been distributed to village communities, farmers and schools in the region in recent years. Our long-term plan for the project is to push for a continuous increase in the number of seedlings grown and distributed.

Stakeholders and local communities involved in the project

"ISCOT, an NGO from Uganda, manages the ground work. Magic to the World e.V. from Germany does the fundraising and financial management. Local farmers are beneficiaries of the project if they prepare their gardens accordingly and can apply for further support with seedlings in following years."

Project Goals

We work closely with our local partner ISCOT and rely on their good connection with local farmers and communities. The goal is to motivate as many farmers as possible to make their land availabe for reforestation and see the long-term benfeits in stabilizing the local climate.

Co-benefits

"Engagement with the local communities, creating labour in the region and sensitisation for the cause and effect of climate change and what to do to stabilize the local climate patterns. Also the fruit trees will bring additional food supply in some years."
