Project Description
Ejido Carindapaz is a small ejido located in Senguio, Michoacan. Due to its geographical location, it has lost a lot of land due to pressure from urban development and the forests have been sold to convert them into homes or premises. There are fewer and fewer usable forest resources, so the ejido is seeking to recover the health of the forest.
It is important to care for and maintain this forest due to its importance in infiltrating water for some springs that supply drinking water in Senguio. In addition, the care of this ejido’s lands is very important due to its proximity to the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve and the monarch butterfly migration route.
