Project Description
The Tulan Nature Reserve, managed by Green Balam Forests, is a conservation and sustainable forest management project situated in the buffer zone of the Maya Biosphere Reserve. It incorporates various income-generating strategies, including carbon credit generation through REDD+ projects, responsible timber and non-timber forest product harvesting (FSC), eco-tourism activities, and the potential for biodiversity credits. This diverse approach promotes both environmental sustainability and economic resilience for the project.
